A -Rotor: Fixed angle 90 Ti

The maximum velocity of this rotor is 90 krpm. HOWEVER, WHEN USED WITH THE POLYCARBONATED BOTTLES (MAX 8X 13.5 ml per tube), AND EVEN MORE WHEN RUNNING CESIUM CHLORIDE GRADIENTS, THE SPEED SHOULD BE LIMITED.

SPECIFICATIONS ON SAFE USE OF BOTTLES:

• Bottle filled AT LEAST half.
• TARA difference between tubes < 50 mg.
• MAXIMUM VELOCITY 65 000rpm (362 000 rcf) for buffer/watery solution.
• MAX VELOCITY WHEN DENSITY > 1, i.e. with CsCl: apply speed reduction: reduced maximum speed = (65 000 rpm) * SQRT (1.2 g/mL / ρ )

where ρ is the density of tube contents. This speed reduction will protect the rotor from excessive stresses due to the added tube load.
